Engine Wedges

The engine wedge fixtures for the chassis jig table is a perfect example of when to use the fourth axis. The fourth axis was able to rotate to the required angle and I was able to use a 1/2in end mill to machine the angle, a ⅝ nub for locating on the jig table, and a tapped hole to allow the engine to be bolted to the jig table. On Esprit, I ran a facing operation on the top and made sure to include the nub as an island. The program was able to rotate the fourth axis and begin doing the operation.
